Because of his popularity I think new aquarists often become discouraged because tanks like that aren't easily achieved by everyone. I personally like to browse thru the Aquatic Gardeners Assocation Aquascaping entries...2005 had everything from 1 liter to 5400, as well as biotopes and paludariums. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

LITTLE_FISH ***** Little Fish ***** Master of Something Posts: 7303 Kudos: 1997 Votes: 670 Registered: 20-May-2005 | Not being the most knowledged person out there when it comes to different defined tank styles, I come up with only 3 options: - Amano - Dutch - Natural (not Nature, as this is Amano) When looking at the link that Theresa provided I see that almost all the tanks I looked at (and I haven't looked at too many as I am at work) are actually Amano Style tanks, IMHO. Amano made way more tanks that have islands on left and right, center islands, and what not, than he made these typically shown "wide open Plains" tanks. If you look through his 3 Nature Aquarium books then you will see what I mean His influence in today's tank designs can only be rivaled by the classic Dutch design. Even great designers like Oliver Knott (spelling may be off) show aspects of Amano Tanks. Well - this is at least my opinion and as I said before, I am not a real expert on design options. As to showing my favorite - impossible, there are way too many to list Ingo |

In addition to helping plants stand out more - and I guess there's no way to prove it - I think it darkens fish color, helping them stand out more as well. |

Good for use with tetras and nocturnal species etc. Seems the right grade for plants to take root in too. |
