Betta's Big Bubblenest | |
Pammy Hobbyist Posts: 148 Kudos: 130 Registered: 30-Mar-2004 | It's been getting bigger by the day. I just put him in the five gallon in the picture. I guess it means he's really happy with his new home.... http://home.comcast.net/~pammylz/HPIM0771b.JPG It's about two inches high, and roughly 3 inches in diameter. I'm quite impressed by the little guy! His name is Rufus, btw. Last edited by HermeLZ at 19-Apr-2005 15:53 |

It's funny how I see this little bubble dome rise out of the water over a course of a week.. I take no credit...he's been an amazing little guy ever since I got him. He spends most of the time flaring into the background, and wiggling up through his plant. He's red, (i'm attaching a picture), his finnage has always been ragged, no matter how I've tried to treat it, it's just been that way... http://home.comcast.net/~pammylz/HPIM0757b.JPG he's gotten a couple extra pellets for his efforts.. -Pamela |

Every betta is different though when it comes to how they construct their nest. Some make really tall ones that are not that big in diameter, and some make very shallow ones that cover the entire top of the tank. Most of mine are somewhere in the middle... ½" to 1" thick, and several inches around. |

I had the same plants in the first Betta tank I had. And my Betta also had torn up fins. Once I removed them from the tank his fins grew back nice and long. |

Pammy Hobbyist Posts: 148 Kudos: 130 Registered: 30-Mar-2004 | I've tried taking the plant out. I did it for a month and it didn't improve. The ends of his fins are transparent. His fins are very long too. I've tried everything.. I thought I had a tough case of fin rot, i tried every medication for fin rot on him and none of it had an effect. His fins aren't shrinking, they're just tattered at the ends. Here is an updated pic... http://home.comcast.net/~pammylz/HPIM0875.JPG Look at the ends of his fins in this pic and you'll know what I mean. -pamela Last edited by HermeLZ at 01-May-2005 12:26 |
