"One-inch German blue rams at 80 degrees. Shazam. Aggressive little snots."

little update:
the blue rams have taken over the left side of the driftwood and are defending it together with out aggression toward each other . sounds like a pair to me

they both rushed the same ram in a corner from different sides then swam off together to the back. im seeing alot of pink in ones belly and none in the other so im pretty positive its a pair. now for them to prove it.

That is a good deal for LFS rams. They look very similar to mine, what city do you live by? I bought 5 blues at a cichlid swap meet for $3.00 a piece. By day 2 they were paired up, and by day 3 they spawned!!! so good luck with yours and I hope they spawn.

Wow, they're gorgeous

I wouldn't pass them by for that price. Locally I haven't seem blue rams for less than $10/each.

Those are really good looking rams you got. Rams are my favourite fish and whenever I go to a shop I always stop by for a while and look at their rams. Unfortunately, many rams nowadays are not as good looking as yours due to inbreeding.

About sexing them, I think one is definitely a female (the one with the pink belly, left on the first picture, right on the second, right on the fourth). I'm not so sure about the other one. It hasn't got the red belly, but it has some blue spots around the black spot and the general shape is like a female, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything as 1) it might still grow and change, 2) some males might have different shapes. Anyway, you will probably soon find out by their behaviour. Rams are not only one of the most stunning fish out there, but the most entertaining too, especially if they pair up. You are really going to enjoy them. Feed them quality food (live or frozen, especially blood worms) and they'll reward you with beautiful colouration and hours of entertaining behaviour.

I think they are both male. Take a pic and post it while they are feeding. They are beautiful fish. I have 2 and they chase each other like crazy. Everyone says it is normal. I wish they would pair up but they have claimed territories on each side of my 55 gallon. I have 2 males and the dominant one is always the brightest colored.

This is the best site ive seen about german rams.

walked into the store just for the heck of it. the employee i know rather well grabbed me by the arm and said follow me so i go have a look. ( not much of a choice lol ) i get to the end of the isle and he points at the tank and low and behold a tank of perfect blue rams. not one or 2 nice looking...a tank full of perfection. so we talk and talk and im looking as we chit chat and finially i convince myself that another pair of $8 fish is to much to blow right now. so as i start leaving i noticed the price and unlike everyone else in the area they are priced very low. so i start looking again and well as you can tell from the subject line...$5.50/ea plus the quality was enough to talk me into a fish lol...so heres a pic.

VERY nice sin! How did I know it would happen sooner or later? You voted Bolivians and I voted Blue Rams... you got the Bolivians and STILL end up with the Blues as well! LOL! Silly boy!
