Hi everyone!
I just started my first tank and I have a fish named Spike but I have no idea what type of fish he is. I have looked for hours online and I thought that maybe you guys would be able to help!I hope I do the picture thing right!! I will put some pics of the rest of my fish on too!

This is Spike http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b389/angell207/fish003.jpg

This is Sawyer. He is in his own smaller tank.http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b389/angell207/fish025.jpg

These are Carl(fantail) and Morris (black moor) http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b389/angell207/fish001.jpg

Another of Sawyer. I liked this pic! It looks like he is kissing himself!http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b389/angell207/fish023.jpg

Thanks for any help you can give me in identifying Spike!!

Is that a double tail? Does he have whiskers? He is cold water and looks like a member of the carp family. Does he stay that skinny or did you just get him and if so is he fattening up? The brighter colored scales just a trick of camera lighting or are they on the fish? The dull spots is that just flesh, ie no scales? Attributes of a leather carp mis. The scales are found scattered on some carp species but never on goldfish, but yes can be found on a goldfish hybrid. I want to say definately not a koi hybrid due to what seems like a lack of whiskers, but it sure looks closer related to german carp and Koi than goldfish.

Thanks for the opinion!! I really appreciate the help!!!

One more quick question, why would a goldfish eat little guppies? Spike ate 3 of the 4 guppies that I bought last week. (I know it was him because I saw the evidence ) Should I feed them more? or is Spike just a little over agressive?

Goldfish eat guppies because they can. They're omnivores. You shouldn't feed the goldfish more. Healthy fish will almost always eat when food is available, so long as they can find it.
