Ever play hide & seek with a 7 inch fish in a 55g? | |
monkeyboy Fish Addict Posts: 521 Kudos: 375 Votes: 223 Registered: 10-Apr-2005 | I had to share these, but as I was walking by my 55g tonight, I noticed I could not find my 7 inch flower horn. After some looking, he was hiding. I swear he does this on purpose sometimes. I know he was pouting earlier because I was doing some clean up. But what he does, is goes into the tall pot and curls his body up to fit into the back http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b48/monkeyboy000/FlowerHorn%20Fishes/hide_an_seak.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b48/monkeyboy000/FlowerHorn%20Fishes/caught.jpg Fish tanks are an expensive addiction |

If that was my tank I would get some long sturdy sicks & place them securely catty corner from top to bottom in the tank so that he would have something to weave in & out of. I would also attach some fake plants to some rocks, so that he might entertain himself by trying to pull them loose. Then I would float a bunch of hornwart or similar plant for him not only to swim through but maybe play with & even try to hide in it from you. I would also place an airstone or wand where he could swim through it if he wanted to. This may not be your preference, as some people like plain tanks. I like the natural look myself, plus I think the fish enjoy the natural surroundings to explore. I'm not trying to tell you what to do here, I'm just voicing what I personally would do if I had that tank. I try to look at things from the fishes point of view. You seem pretty attached to him so I think the two of you could have even more fun together with the extra stimulation of added decor. But of course, that's up to you. I imagine he has a name? |

I cant say due to the fact of the various ages on the site and I don't want to offend the easily offended... but its a 5 letter word with one vowel. Fish tanks are an expensive addiction |
