I had to share these, but as I was walking by my 55g tonight, I noticed I could not find my 7 inch flower horn. After some looking, he was hiding. I swear he does this on purpose sometimes. I know he was pouting earlier because I was doing some clean up.

But what he does, is goes into the tall pot and curls his body up to fit into the back

I'm still thinking he's bored. If that was my tank I would get some long sturdy sicks & place them securely catty corner from top to bottom in the tank so that he would have something to weave in & out of. I would also attach some fake plants to some rocks, so that he might entertain himself by trying to pull them loose. Then I would float a bunch of hornwart or similar plant for him not only to swim through but maybe play with & even try to hide in it from you.
I would also place an airstone or wand where he could swim through it if he wanted to.

This may not be your preference, as some people like plain tanks. I like the natural look myself, plus I think the fish enjoy the natural surroundings to explore. I'm not trying to tell you what to do here, I'm just voicing what I personally would do if I had that tank. I try to look at things from the fishes point of view. You seem pretty attached to him so I think the two of you could have even more fun together with the extra stimulation of added decor. But of course, that's up to you. I imagine he has a name?

I had plants in there at one time, they keep getting uprooted every day. but I am going to get him some pingpong balls this week to float in the tank.

his name? lol... I cant say due to the fact of the various ages on the site and I don't want to offend the easily offended... but its a 5 letter word with one vowel.
