Some very good close -ups there! Nice to see someone else getting in some macro practise on some tiny fish, the only possible critique I could have is that there needs to be a little whitebalancing when using flash, although not all cameras have that ability, and you did overcome the iridescence of the fish very well.I enjoyed the pics all the same though.

Not only do we have very similar male betta's, but I coincidentally got my best picture of mine lately too. Must be co-operative betta week

Take a looky.

And yes, despite the new diet he's still retaining weight. Fat lil bugger.I might starve him out for a week and see how he goes.

They do look very similar, the only difference is that yours is fatter and mine has a different shade of blue, great pictures by the way

Good pics you two! I especially like the one of the cory that looks like he is upchucking.

I know little about bettas, but I'm assuming they loose color as they age? Cause I just bought one.... a bright red all over....& it appears as though not a scale on his body is missing any red. So I can expect some color fading as he ages?

Not necessarily, just make sure they get some beta-carotene in the diet, usually in foods like tetra colour flakes, and they should remain colourful all of their lives.

Thats the offspring of two gourami's I bred back in october. Its a hybrid between a flame gourami male and a standard female, he ended up getting the best wualities of both. so hes about 8 months old or so.
