I have a few pictures in my long thread in the Cichlid section, but I want to share with other people who may not visit the cichlid section regularly.

specs:
55g All-Glass tank
Rena XP3
Stealth 250w heater
Slate rock
Corkscrew vals
2/3 Eco-complete cichlid sand and 1/3 Tahition moon sand

fish:
9 Labidochromis caeruleus (Yellow labs)

the questionable rock pile

the little labs

contrast between mbuna tank and 29g planted

The labs are small...about 1.5 inches and still skittish. I hope to get better closeup pictures of them once they settle in more and get used to their new home.

(please excuse water spots and blurry pictures)

I'm not sure about the rock pile. I do have plastic eggcrate under the sand to stablize the rocks. I will be keeping a close eye on the pile though, to make sure it won't shift. I did test it when I was making it, but I'm still paranoid.

Enjoy!

Its looking good, girliegirl
I like the rock pile! If you are that paranoid about it I think that you should just silicone them together. I like the labs to.

Have to say that rock pile does look a little precarious ...

Definitely a job for the silicone adhesive and some Lego bricks

Mind you, if you can arrange for that rock pile to hold together and still be relatively easy to dismantle when needed, I think your Yellow Labs will enjoy exploring it ...
