Same size as an amano, doesnt really eat algae, just scavenges. Anyway its a good excuse to practise my macro skills. Enjoy, definite id appreciated! http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/longhairedgit/IMG_3908.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/longhairedgit/IMG_3905.jpg |

Have you tried anything similar to "Difinitive Guide to Australian Freshwater Fauna" - substitute your country/area for Australia - for identification? |

I have it in all my tanks now. It was really expensive and for the first few weeks you use it you will get brown diatomic algae, and a bag of it is so heavy you wont believe it when you try to pick it up. Things love burrowing into it too, my banjo cats love it, and because the fish can see the food on it so clearly, they rarely miss a fragment. For gravel its really "self-levelling" too. Its nice and dark for all the amazon species, fish like tetras love it. Its the best substrate I ever used. heres a few more of my latest macro shots http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/longhairedgit/IMG_4047.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/longhairedgit/IMG_4044.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/longhairedgit/IMG_4042.jpg |
