hey how do you take a picture of the fishes while they're moving? whenever i try to take a picture of my fishes with my digital camerca while they're moving, they always come out blurry. and if i turn on flash...they won't be blurry but their eyes and will be white from the camera's flash

but yeeea...those are some nice pictures i don't give algae wafers to my algae eating fishes anymore tho because i notice that they get "spoiled" and don't try as hard to clean the algae off of the tank anymore

I know human beings and fish can co-exist peacefully.

if you turn the flash on to get a faster shutter speed but do't want the flash just place your finger over the light, therefore same shutterspeed but no light.

Well I was lucky enough to get my first DSLR for Xmas. Even though I'm still learning how to use it the photo quality is so much better than my old Fuji.

One thing I learned from a fish photographer is not to place your finger over the flash but tape a small piece of tissue.

Hey Theresa,

I can see by your pics you're still learning the ins and outs of Depth of Field. IME when photographing fish - or any wildlife - including people! - and you want to take it as a kind of portrait, make sure the focus locks onto the eyes of your subject. There should be a setting on the camera to make it so that the camera locks onto the center focus point in the viewfinder. Then all you need do is point the center sensor at the subjects eyes, press the shutter halfway down to lock the focus, recompose the image to your liking and fire away. Just FWIW anyway

Nice green fire tetras by the way Their color certainly does come alive in a well maintained aquarium!

I kinda have the same problem, except it's my fish that are more interested in the waffer than my pleco. He finally found one and I saw him chilling on it.
