I'm not quite sure what you're trying to achieve with them, but if it is for caves, then still take them out, buy some silicone kit and use that to cover the pipes with gravel, sand or other, more natural looking stuff. Bare PVC is just plain ugly! |

But apart from that the zebras are nice Im sure giving them more driftwood will make them more happier. -Mango |

I was kind of hoping you guys could help me place them where they'd be a bit less, well, tacky. I can't really take them out. It's sort of a breeding tank, and they've already taken up residency in these tubes--the kings just spawning again last night X^(. EDIT: didn't see either of your silicon suggestions. Sounds good. I'll try it out. Just the standard aquarium binding stuff, correct? Last edited by Cup_of_Lifenoodles at 25-Feb-2005 13:48 |

Altho, if they are breeding and you don't want to mess with them, you could try covering the pipes a bit with some more gravel. Just to kill off some of the white in your tank. Just a thought. You don't even have to go all the way to silicone - you can just rubberband java moss around them. But, IMO, there's an alternate way to go: theme tank. Add more pipes, of varying sizes, but all white. Remove or hide behind pipes all of the natural stuff (ie driftwood can go inside pipes, plants can go behind, but try and keep them invisible) Use black substrate, maybe Tahitian moon sand, and put a black background on the tank. Hang a pipe from above that has an elbow on the end, so it looks like a periscope. Buy some too-small-for-caves piping and elbows and create a (sort of) flat labyrinth, cap the ends so fish can't get in and get lost, and use that as a sort of 3D background. Use piping and four elbows to fr -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |
