this is the beginning of my 125 tank. The background is indoor/outdoor tile from Lowe's that is siliconed onto the back of the tank.

I think you need live plants.

That background gives it a distinct look. What kind of fish are you planning to get?

Very nice. I like the look of the tile in the background--very clever. The plants are a nice touch, but, IIRC, aren't CA's notorious for their digging habits?

I'm planning on getting a V. regani, V. bifasciatus, V. synspilum, some carpintis "escondido", blue dempseys, and some Thoricythys Mixteco blue and Aureus blue. I'm gonna order all from Jeff Rapps. Your right New World Cichlids are definatly notorious for eating live plants. I wouldn't be able to keep up with them if I went that route. Thanks for the compliments.

Bad idea puting those fish together the vieja species will kill the dempseys and Thoricythys Mixteco blue and Aureus blue and then kill each other but you can always try.

The only Vieja that I am worried about is the bifasciatum the reganin and synspilum are well noted for their ability to do well in a community tank. All the fish will be the approx. the same size and will grow up together. I plan on keeping an eye on my wildcard and watch what happens. Don't worry they are all in good hands.

tank looks awesome and definitely keep an eye on that bifasciatum. you also might want to watch out for the carpintis as well as they can vary but can be extremely aggressive. good luck with the setup!
