I dunno if anyone agrees with me on this but i kept my elephant nose alone. I thought this was nesesary as they are electric fish. plus san substrate is advised for thier delicate noses |

It's a good sign that he wants to explore the tank. I know some of them are so shy it takes ages to lure them out. is he feeding ok? and what have you got him on. very nice fish |

He hides there all day long..except when my pleco is going inside the pipe to clean..then the elephantnose just swim fast to hide in another cave i have,and waits till the pleco has cleaned it. Since he is a night person...i think i will try to give him some food at night. |

They are pretty skittish fish. try turning all your lights off. getting a little torch. and shine in so it lights the tank dimmly. then feed him and see if he eats it. good luck |
