Yeah, I'm curious too....are they a local snag or did you have to order online? I've been tempted by some on Aquabid. I don't know if they would get along with my angels and rams though. Are they the triple reds? "Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder." |

Do you have any idea as to what classification these fish had attached to them, like Double-Red, Triple-Red, or what? In any way, your female looks different than mine. I am sure mine will color up some more, but here is the male after one day in the tank: EDIT: Come to think of it, although similar to Gomer, I assumed your's are Apistogramma cacatuoides, but maybe they are not the female is sooooo different. Cue taxonomic battles looming ahead as some people claim they're separate species while others disagree. Third : Ingo, if you want a challenge, try my mixed Apistos from my Maidenhead Aquatics trip. Links to photos in two threads. |

crusha Enthusiast Fish Geek Posts: 262 Kudos: 183 Votes: 102 Registered: 11-Nov-2005 | They are beautiful! I have just managed to get a couple from my LFS. They are as rare as around here. They came in about 2 weeks ago and I have been watching them. Went down on the weekend and found there was only two left in the tank so I had to get them. They are tiny and haven't coloured up yet so I dont know if I have a pair at this stage. |

LITTLE_FISH ***** Little Fish ***** Master of Something Posts: 7303 Kudos: 1997 Votes: 670 Registered: 20-May-2005 | My male, as pictured above, actually died within 3 days of arrival Not being an expert in Apisto Cacas, I didn't notice that he does not look as good as he is supposed to. Anyway, the LFS main guy was so nice to replace the fish, he noticed as well that he was not in goog shape when he sold the couple to me. Given that they did not have another pair of Triple-Red, I bought a pair of really closely related Double-Orange (aka Orange Flash, I think). I was offered to return the female Triple-Red, but couldn't part with her and had to pay only for the additional female. I will post pictures in my Photo Booth thread as this is not my place to jam with it. Ingo |
