So, I got my new pleco today, was given to me by a
girl from a forum who is moving and had no room at her new place for her fish. She had 3 glowlights, a cardinal tetra and this little guy. He is tiny, I would say barely an inch long.

Pic 2: Snout Shot

Pic 3: Top Shot

Pic 4: Top Shot 2 (See he is only a little bigger than cardinal tetra)

Sneaky,

I love it when people post pictures of fish that I have never seen or heard off. I got curious about this fish when I was your pics and did a little research on the web about it.

Name: Chaetostoma cf thomasi
Max Size: 3”
Temperament: Peaceful, territorial with own kind
Temperature: 21 - 25 C (70 - 77 F)

( info was from This Page )

And:

Sociabilit: Can't be mixed with conspecifics, otherwise doesn't care. ( from This Site )

And That Pet Place has in stock for $ 1.99 (see image below for details)

Seems to be an excellent choice when someone likes a tank with only smaller fish (convinced me).

EDIT: Interesting, they use a different Latin name???

Nice. Looks like he's a healthy fellow. C. milesi is a larger, hardier species hailing from warmer waters. Although the bottom fish is labelled as C. milesi, it is in fact C.thomsoni--the cf means confer, referring to a fish that may be from indicated genus, but the identification is unclear. They do tolerate their own kind, but are territorial, as are most other loricariids. Having kept a trio in a twenty tall then transferred into a ten (after one jumped the tank), I can say that they are not intolerant as say, psuedacanthicus sp. are. As they live higher up the Magdalena course than many other rubbernoses, they are more susecptible to heat sickness. She's already got great color-good luck with her (maybe find a male for her when she grows older).
