New rainbow cichlids. | |
longhairedgit Fish Guru Lord of the Beasts Posts: 2502 Kudos: 1778 Votes: 29 Registered: 21-Aug-2005 | Decided to take home a couple of the rainbow cichlids at work, only been a few hours and theyve coloured up nicely. longhairedgit Fish Guru Lord of the Beasts Posts: 2502 Kudos: 1778 Votes: 29 Registered: 21-Aug-2005 | I would imagine an oscar would probably beat them to death, but they can be used in community where the average fish size is about 3 inches or more, although they may start fights when breeding. This is the sort of fish that would do well in larger tanks with a few peaceful cichlids like the gentler acaras, generally a bit understocked with lots of places to call their own just in case territoriality starts when breeding. When theyre not breeding though, they are very peaceful. Theyre more the sort of fish youd have with green terrors , firemouths etc in a 6 foot tank, and in that company theyd be the junior fish. |
