I copied & pasted most of the suggestions below, but you could also go there yourself for more detail on these as well as other suggestions. Of the non edible toys, I would just make sure he couldn't get it in his mouth, or break it or be able to take chunks out of it. Also consider if it would affect water quality, as far as the material it is made out of or the paint used on it. In a big tank with hard water I doubt that would make much difference. Just use your imagination with common sense & I bet you find a lot of things just around the house. -------- "Try mosquitofish, or a lot of blackworms that can live in the gravel. Also, try some vegetable, or a fishing float for him to knock around Ping pong balls bubbles? java moss balls? peas? Plants... my Oscars love to rip them out. I've tryed everything else, including divers, swimming toys that look like fish, pingpong balls and even a dinosaur(which scared the heck out of them!!) and nothing amuses them as much as some well anchored and tough 'weed'. If you cichlid loves plants, get some tough plants and let it play! You could place a mirror beside the tank every once in a while one trick i've seen was get a laser pointer and run it around the bottom of the tank and let him chase it for a few minutes at a time." |
