The extra length opens up a few more options for stocking. I don't know what your fish preferences are, but you could setup a nice community tank or something. †Aquapickle† |

I wish you good luck with them, as I know they can be a struggle to maintain. As I've said before, I don't understand the question about what fish to keep!? Turn me loose in a fish store & I could fill several tanks! I don't know much about fish tank sizes, but your 20 looks like a regular 20 to me. I say that cause I have a 20 sitting here that looks like yours & I have a relative that has about a size 20 gal. & his tank is REALLY low & long. So I just assumed mine was a regular 20 & his was what you call a 20 long? Aha! I knew I saved this site for something! I will put it below. It's a site telling about tank sizes, so you can measure your tank & tell what size it is. I just measured my tank & it measures the closest to a 20 gal. high. Not that it matters that yours is high or low....... it's just something to use if you ever want to know for sure for some particular reason. http://www.anapsid.org/resources/tanksize.html I just noticed that tall rock in your first picture. Is that a real rock? Whatever is it, that was a good find! I'd like one of those in my tank to hide my submersible heater! |

Here is some advice that I have gotten from this board when I set up my first planted tanks. Fill your tanks up with plants. Right now they are very lightly planted which will leave the door open for algae. Check the planted tank forum if you want to learn about lighting and fertilizing. There are a lot of very advance planters over there (They love to talk to!) On takeing the pictures I would do the following to help reduce the glare and make your tank easier to see online. First get a background (PetSmart sells them). Second, take the picture at night with all the lights off except the tank's light. Third Turn off the camera's flash. Once I started doing this I got much better pictures even with my crappy camera. Hope that helps! Keep up the good work. Rick See all my pictures at Google Web Albums |

It just occurred to me! I'm trying to get this certain background that has rocks in it & the one you have that I like I think would go perfect in my tank with it! Do you remember where you got it?? |

aquapickle27 Enthusiast Posts: 182 Kudos: 98 Votes: 55 Registered: 28-Jan-2006 | Oh Yeah now i looked more closely and noticed it is a normal 20 gal. Still it can hold a nice community of fish. Slick has some good tips, I began using these and that improved my photo quality tremendously. Wow only two months and you've got two nice tanks setup. I wish my parents would let me setup another tank. †Aquapickle† |

I live by a lake, so I might look there before paying that much for one. But thanks.......... I'll remember petsmart if I have to resort to buying one. |
