Ok got a new toy-digital camera. So now I can post some decent pics of my tank. I've gone for a bit of a jungle.

Any feedback, tips, criticisms welcome. It's taken 3 months to get to this stage just a bit of growing out to do and I'm finished (hopefully)

I like your "bit of a jungle". Lots of $bucks and time involved there.

Thanks. Lot's of time involved certainly but actually very little bucks. Living in Indonesia I have a lot of choice in tropical plants and very cheapy, never spent more then 25 cents on a plant ! But with patience it can be cheap anywhere, the plants will grow and you prune and replant the clippings. One bunch of wistera or polysperma can be be turned into a jungle in relatively little time. As of yet I haven't really used ferts, no CO2 (yet!) so really the only expense I had for the plants was the PC light fixture, about $80.

Really time and work is the key factor.

how'd you get a pc fixture for 80 bucks-used?

Nope. Brand new and very nice. 4 X 36w PC bulbs, reflectors, a very attractive unit with stand that sits perfectly on the top of the tank. One of the perks of living in Asia, I have access to all those Asian brands like Azoo etc. The quality of their products as improved hugely in the last few years, there's still a lot of crap out there but there is also a lot of good quality stuff too. The brand on this fixture is Matrix and it's very solid.

The same dealer has offered me a complete pressurised CO2 set up for about US$80 which is an absolutely unreal price. Picking it up at the weekend.

it is very possible to pick up cheap equipment no matter where you are. you just have to be willing to look until you find a deal you like. my vet helped me with my pressurized co2, i only had to buy the regulator, which cost me $50.

nice tank, btw :88)
