They are beauties! Way to go!
Looks like a pair of males to me.
If you want them to really color up fast, feed them frozen bloodworms supplemented with veggie flake and earthworm flake! When they mature their chest should turn either emerald green, or deep navy blue.
When I had my big male Barred rainbowfish, him and my boesmani who is also a male, would have show off competitions, and the Barred rainbow would turn deep golden with red and blue bars, and the boesmani would go emerald at the head, navy at the waist and almost red at the tail. Male rainbows are fun cuz they do show off to each other. Get a female and they will go wild trying to impress her!

Thanks..
It may be the same fish though..i tried to get them both together in a pic but that was not easy.So the pics you see here can be of the one only..
But i think you are correct..maybe it is 2 males.
How do you see the diff from a he/she,,is it the colours?
Ohhh 6 or 8 of them would be nice..iam looking for other rainbow fish too..like the crimson spot rainbow,Will it be ok to have them with the other rainbows?

Yes, all rainbowfish are compatible to my knowledge. A group of 6 Boesmani and 6 Crimson would look awesome!
My dream is to one day have a 75g rainbowfish tank - 6 Boesmani, 6 Irian Reds, 6 Dwarf Turqoise, and 6 Threadfins, coupled with a 4 or 6 pack of Pictus Cats!

Rainbowfish are amongst my favorite of fish. So friendly when they come to know you, and will eat from your hand!

Female Boesmanis are very washed out pale in comparison to males, they may be entirely silver, or silver with a kind of yellowy shaded tail very light in color. Perhaps someone on here might have a pic of a pair.
