I try to keep the little suckers with their parents as often as possible (as they tend to do a better job of raising their offspring than myself), but this time, dad high tailed it as soon as I gravel-vacced around the cave, so, well, here they are, in the floating fry-trap: [href]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v398/Kleevage/Picture17515.jpg[/href] The underside of a corydoras weitzmani--from this angle, it's fairly obvious how closely related callichthyids are to astroblepids and loricariids: [href]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v398/Kleevage/Picture17522.jpg[/href] |

I think that mine is male, due to his fondness of "his" cave. Physical differences between the two sexes are probably minimal, but I'd love to see both female and male. Yeah, the side of the fry shot is somewhat scratched up, so presentable pictures of them are few and far between. Depending on how long you've kept your L-66, sexing should be quite easy. First, the male: [href]http://www.plecofanatics.com/gallery/data/513/IMG_1189.JPG[/href] Note the size of the odontodal growths on both the primary pectoral ray and the interopercular region. Next, the female: [href]http://www.plecofanatics.com/gallery/data/500/Picture_015.jpg[/href] The difference is quite noticeable. I believe there's a picture of her in the FP gallery as well. and a few more pictures from the previous night's photoshoot that I was too lazy to upload. [href]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v398/Kleevage/Picture17538.jpg[/href] Again, bear with the bad shots of the fry. My problem is that its extremely timid. Only comes out when the lights are dimmed and darts back into its cave when I get too close to the tank. Thanks for sharing, those are great pics.
