Jos Small Fry Posts: 0 Kudos: 0 Votes: 0 Registered: 23-Jul-2006 | Hi all ,this is my first post here I though I'd show off this catfish I found in Hereford a few weeks ago.I've been keeping fish for 28 yrs now and have never seen one in a lfs so he had to come home with http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e399/FishFiend/RipsawCat.jpg He has many names Ripsaw cat,black Doradid,Oxydoras Niger,Pseudadora Niger,Mother of all Snails...and my daughter named him spike. He's about 8" atm and could grow to 2-3ft(what a beast).He's a nocturnal scavenger and will being sharing a 5x2x2 with my Oscar and couple of other big beasts( Fat Sleeper Goby and a Scobiancistrus L253). |

fishing-around Fingerling Posts: 40 Kudos: 11 Votes: 8 Registered: 21-Jul-2006 | WOW! he is big..cool looking fish.. you say 5x2x2 so would the be around 100 gal+ tank? an old landlord of mine had a cat fish around 4ft uglies looking thing he was so old and falling apart..literally, he had holes in his face you could see in..yukkk chunks missing.. they removed all the gravel completely,cause when he tryed to move around it would swish up on top of him, and suppose get inside.. I remember the day he was going and dont know where..but he could not turn in that tank.. ssounds like your tank is big.. what type of stand do you have iron or wood..? send more pics would love to see them..
