i picked up a few of these at the LFS about 2 weeks ago. Im not sure what species though, i think it is c. ambiacus, however there are a few similar looking corys.

im no expert, nor have i ever kept corydoras, but if i had to guess, id say Corydoras melanistus

i just found this one that also looks like it, because they do have some markings on the tail, the picture is of the male which has the least markings.

Ive looked at just about every other Corydoras profile on the site, but i cant quite find one that looks as similar to your pictures as you did. So I think you've got it now, as the markings on C. brevirostris look identical in comparison to the pictures of your cories.

well i guess that settles it then, still called spotted cory either way. They are very playful and like to hangout with my panda hoard.
