It's been a while since I have posted here, but I still visit often.

A lot has changed with all our tank in the house.

We are up to 5 permanent tanks right now with an occasional 6th and 7th set up for danio or cory rearing.

The 5 permanent ones are:
1-75G
1-55G
1-30G
1-20G reg
1-20G long

In any case, here is my latest entertainment. They is 3 bluegill that I caught out of a local pond. 1 small adult, and 2 small juveniles. They are the only fish in the tank right now. I am debating on adding an apple snail to help with with the food that they miss.

Nevermind the glare... it was a bad time to take the pics.

Can I get some more picture for a definitive ID? Those are no bluegills.

The larger one may be a hybrid, not sure about the smaller ones. They aren't very big, so the juveniles may have a different shape and or color pattern than the adults.

No hybrids here; lepomis are not frequent hybridizers. The larger fish is most definitely a juvie green; in above pictures, the angle of the camera somewhat distorted the fish's coloration, though the white rim should have facilitated an instant ID. The second fish could be the young of any compressed, mid ranged lepomis (i.e.: redear, flier, pumpkinseed and it's close relative the bluegill). Where were they caught?

From a pond near my house here in West Virginia.

The larger one, and the mid sized one have taken quite a liking to large flakes, and cichlid sticks. The smaller of the 3 has yet to eat though. If he doesn't eat, he's not going to make it.

Probably a red ear or a pumpkinseed. The markings and build are very reminescent of a warmouth, though, of course, the mouth is too small.
