In this thread I’ll post the first-ever pictures of my pencilfish (sorry, just one) and of my L128 plec (sorry, just one bad one). The pencils are only shy when the camera is out, but I think I can train them not to care. On the other hand, the blue phantom flees whenever I approach the tank. It will be a while until I can score a good photo of it…

Oh, and I got some actual decent (hardly-blurry!) pics of my Corydoras guapore. It is becoming a camera hog, and is the least shy of all my cories. If only I had more.

The guapore:

The pencil:

Blue in the cave:

For this plec, it’s going to be a waiting game. Maybe lots of zucchini will help it become less shy. Anticipation…

nice pics. I like that pencilfish :88) especially how the top portion of the caudal fin is clear and the bottom is coloured.

hey!
Your cory is soo cute!!!
One of the cutest I have ever seen.
Also, I used to have a group of those pencils.
I was of the understanding and belief that they are known as the Beckford's Pencilfish - also sold as Golden Pencilfish.
I had a small group of 4, and the 2 males got so red on top they looked like tiny red humming birds!
I love pencilfish!!

Nope, those are one-lined pencilfish, Nannostomus unifasciatus.

Thanks for the compliments on the cory, it already gets plenty of attention from me. I'm afraid the fish thinks of itself as a celebrity now!:%)
