I was unable to view the photo that you had posted so I can't really give you a good answer, but here is a couple of links to profiles on this site. http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/321.htm http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/264.htm Also under the Profiles section of this site if you search under freshwater fish and just enter the term "shark" you will come up with numerous other varieties that use the word shark in their common name. Hopefully, this will help you out. Good luck and take good care of yourself in Iraq. Jim |

They'll snack on many of the smaller, common community fishes such as Neon Tetras and Guppies. I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |

He was one cool fish though! My kids named him "shark". It's too bad he lived up to the name they gave him. I have looked at the other pictures, and if im not mistaken, that tank is around 1 gallon. That is much too small for any fish, even a betta. There is also an iridescent shark and a common pleco in the tank. In order for them to be happy, the common pleco will need at least a 100 gallon tank, and as for the iridescent shark, a 1000 gallon tank! Common Plecos, when given an adequately sized tank, will grow to around 18 inches, while iridescent sharks will grow to around 4 feet. I suggest that your nephew returns all of the fish, and maybe buy a larger tank (a 20 gallon is a good choice for the beginner). With a 20 gallon, he could keep a wide range of small fish- tetras, danios, cories, and rasboras are all great suggestions. Let him see the profiles on this website to give him an idea of some of the fish he could keep if he were to get a larger tank. |

And it doesn't even have a filter... Just some little bubbler thing. All of those fish need to be moved out of there before they die of ammonia poisoning. Besides the dinky tank there seems to be a great deal of water on the outside and pooled on the table. Someone may have been cleaning just before the pictures but it looked a bit dangerous. Make sure your nephew has a good drip loop in that airline and the power cord, until he gets a bigger tank. "Talk is cheap. Action can be almost as affordable" |
