curvicep Fingerling Posts: 46 Kudos: 43 Votes: 0 Registered: 01-Feb-2005 | Here are a few pics of my planted 70gal. Sorry for the motion blurr, but there's no shutter speed adjustment on my camera. The fish have to be perfectly still to get clear pics and they aren't very cooperative http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v474/vf1a/tankfull1a.jpg closeups: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v474/vf1a/altum5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v474/vf1a/altum6.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v474/vf1a/altum7.jpg |

Even though the fish aren't always in focus (as you've explained - difficult with a camera with awkward presets) it's obvious to anyone who appreciates good fish husbandry that this is a setup that has had a lot of devotion lavished upon it. There are a few so-called 'professional' setups that could learn from this. I absolutely adore lavish underwater jungles, and even though it's more organised than the 'conventional' jungle aquarium, it has that 'window on a tropical river' look that is the hallmark of a really superb aquarium. There's one or two peices of technology visible, but otherwise, a sterling effort. Big merit star for this one! |

curvicep Fingerling Posts: 46 Kudos: 43 Votes: 0 Registered: 01-Feb-2005 | There's 3 different types of java ferns in the tank, the regular type, lace/windelov type, and another type that forks into 3 tips and grows quite tall, reaches the surface(~18 inches). I've got an SAE and 4 otos for the algae. The otos are doing a surprisingly good job on the green crusty algae. A pair even spawned in my tank! Here are the pair in the T-position similar to corys: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v474/vf1a/otospawn05.jpg Last edited by curvicep at 12-Mar-2005 22:50 Last edited by curvicep at 12-Mar-2005 22:51 |
