it's at least about a year and a half, cause i got him over a year ago now. all that new growth you see is within the last year

mostly it eats the leftover food on the bottom. these new ones are also cleaning up after the fish, eating the uneaten food, but occasionally i will throw in a piece of zuchini for them to munch on
