thought this was a great set of shots. here is one of my clown plecos (the first one i ever got actually ) with its back up as if to defend itself:

and here is his "big brother" to come to his rescue i know you were probably thinking "oh i thought that was a rock back there in the other pics"

yeah, that's my big guy. he's around 10" now and it's time to upgrade the tank. but of course i have no money (or space) to get a big enough tank

It looks normal to me. My brother's clown pleco sits like that all the time. Is that unusual for a clown pleco to sit like that?

it depends on what they're doing. since mine was looking at me trying to take pics, then he had his spine up. when i see them when they don't know i'm looking, they don't always have it up like that.

Oh, I got ya now. You mean the plecos fin on his back was standing up. I'm actually not sure if my brother's pleco does that.
