Last summer I had some terrible luck and lost quite a few bettas. I was so upset I decided to give up on them for a while. At Easter my kids gave me a male, who recently moved to his own 5g, leaving at least one 2.5g empty.

So today I took the kids to a lcps with the intention of getting one male. It was my youngest daughter's turn to choose...they had a very nice variety but she picked what I think was the plainest betta. He's sort of a deep gold/brown, red fins with light blue edging. He moves a bit slowly, deliberately, which makes me wonder if he's on the old side. This one was named 'Goldie'; the first pic was while he was still acclimating, the second in his new tank:

Well, right across from the males were maybe 15-20 females I had really wanted a female but hadn't seen any locally in a long time. My other two daughters chose this little girl, named Rosie. Very pretty pink & lavender body with red fins. She's about the size of a full-grown neon.

Watching her in my 30g has been fun. She's soo curious...loves the filter output & bubble wall, plays with her reflection, chases the cories, and is quite interested in the MTS.

That is one beautiful betta babe, and who knows, the male may color up more when he feels more at home.
