Congratulations about the fry. I would suggest getting some long stem plants whose tips will float on the water, or maybe just some floating plants, as it will give the fry somewhere to hide and will increase their chances of surviving. |

The sailfins are particularly hardy as mollies go, and will usually be fine in most water conditions. Yours look nice and healthy! They are found in both fresh and brackish water in their natural habitats. However, they do not live in FW due to "years of being bred in FW". Still, though--I say, send them back. Get a nice school of black skirts, festivum or other peaceful SA cichlids (can you find geophageus in your area?), and maybe another hypancistrus species or two; a great SA tank. |

~Mista Psycho~ Hobbyist Posts: 125 Kudos: 84 Votes: 12 Registered: 13-Mar-2005 | Not necessarily. Mollies are naturally a brakish water fish. But due to years of breeding they can survive well in the freshwater aquarium. But for that little bit of luxury for them some aquarium salt would be great. Just add a teaspoon for every 10g. The salt will not harm your other fish infact it will probably protect them from deseases. KEEEP THE MOLLIES !!! theyre really nice ones |

Untitled No. 4 Big Fish Posts: 488 Kudos: 452 Votes: 33 Registered: 07-Nov-2004 | Nice tank, and it's nice to see how it progresses and becoming nicer. If the tank really has one way glass, then you'd better not keep a betta as it will exhaust itself by fighting the guy in the mirror. |
