They look good! Have you tried taking without the flash? At least I'm guessing that was a flash reflection. The pic of the Ram is a great close up!

For us lazy folk:

This worked for me and is actually in a thread written by Callatya. Was very helpful even though I had never used a digicam.
1. Nightime is best (unless you can accomplish that kind of "darkness" by closing all of your blinds/curtains)
2. Tank lights on
3. Flash off
4. room lights off
5. Macro setting on your camera (sometimes referred to as "flower power" becayse that is the icon used by most cameras) This is for close-up shots.
Good luck!

BTW the tank looks great!
I'm not sure why that happened but sorry for the double post

Is there a backround on there? A nice deep blue background would look nice

Your highness,

Can't really see much of the tank to advise anything about plants or rocks etc. Sorry

Follow the advice already given - dark room, tank lights on, flash off, play around with the speed setting until you get a photo thats bright enough.

For the moss, you can create the carpet effect by tieing/growing it on plastic egg crate and sitting it on the bottom. You can disguise the egg crate by sprinkling gravel.

A plain background - black or blue would be good. One other little thing, I see your thermometer stuck right into the middle of the glass. Move it, it's just a distraction. Move it either to the top corner or even on the side of the tank, where it is not noticable but can still be read. Equipment and accessories should be as unobtrusive as possible and where possible completely hidden from view, makes everything look more natural.

Anyway from what I can see it looks like a really nice tank. Good job
