Very nice Jerrard! But those three pics look like three different decoration scenes to me? In any case the plants look very healthy. And you say you use no ferts? Is that just regular gravel also....no planting medium in it?

Sorry, I double posted, so I deleted the last one.

yeah he first is one week into having the tank , the 2nd is pre GLO light and the third was taken after i added a second peice of wood and did a trim, i dont use ferts and this tank is no planting substrata, i fnd the right balance of fish plants and others like shrimp help keep a tank healthy but dont get me wrong is nothing like a proper planting soil , C)2 injector and ferts, but i havent run a low tech in many years so i thought id see how it went anyone can run a hightech tank provided they read the proper lit. but low tech and healthy tanks a softer more observant touch in mu opinion.

Ok, I guess we're both in the same boat then, as I recently put a few live plants in my two tanks. Nothing like yours, but I will attempt to keep the few plants I have alive, even if I have to resort to ferts & hopefully not co2.
So no ferts, co2 or special planting soil is called low tech. Ok. So how long has this tank been set up with all these plants?

I looked up Dragonfish on this site & all I found was a marine Dragonfish, also called a Lionfish. Is this what you're going to have in a SW tank??

I like the tank. I'm gonna try a low tech tank as well, and I hope it looks half as good as that one.

Fish Patty, I think he was referring to this fish.

the tank is about 14 months old, at first i just let everything grow didnt prune at all , i dont Vac the gravel and i do a weekly 10 gal water change. the number or plants in the tank with java moss and hornwort use alot of the left over matter from fish waste and the water changes obviously handle what isnt used, i use only natural meds IE melafix and primafix if there is a issue but i havent had to many to contend with. adding CO2 and ferts always makes a tank better when used properly but it takes more attention the point to me is to enjy this tank with minimal upkeep
