TIGER9 Enthusiast Posts: 237 Kudos: 174 Votes: 1 Registered: 06-Feb-2003 | i have one p. polleni, and one bushfish. the bushfish i got from an lfs called aquarium world. the polleni i found at petsmart(believe it or not). i paid $10 for the polleni, and if memory serves correctly the bushfish was about the same. right now they are in a 20g. but just until i can get a stand built for my 44g. pentagon. then i plan on moving these two fish, my syn. eupterus, and plecos to the 44g. i plan on keeping the polleni n bushfish together as long as possible, but eventually theyll have to be seperated, cause the polleni gets up to 12in. n the 44g. just aint big enough for the two of them at adult size. but like i said before, they are getting along wonderfully. ive never seen a cichlid with such a subdued temperment, even angels seem nippy compared to this guy. |

aquatexan Banned Posts: 151 Votes: 1 Registered: 03-Aug-2004 | Good i am glad you know that. The bushfish you are talkin about is the (what i call) spotted climbin perch right? Then if so then yeah the "Bushfish" is a labrinth. P.S. Most people don't know the term anataboids so i like to use labrinth. |

TIGER9 Enthusiast Posts: 237 Kudos: 174 Votes: 1 Registered: 06-Feb-2003 | The bushfish you are talkin about is the (what i call) spotted climbin perch right? yup, leopard bushfish and spotted climbing perch are both common names for the same fish, the scientific name is ctenopoma acuitirostre,(i believe, my spelling may be off on the second half) on other sites ill post pics and say,"hey, here are some pics of my leopard bushfish." i always get a few replies of people "correcting" me, saying," thats not a leopard bushfish. its a leopard ctenopoma or a spotted climbing perch." sometimes people dont get that for almost every fish there can be a zillion different common names. almost makes me want to just start making up some myself. ill post pics of my red belly piranhas n say," heres some pics of my silly-faced sandwich tetras!"...... |
