hey folks -

my pencilfish have been breeding all afternoon, prompting me to take some photos of them (not in the act). if you check the photo called 'alpha' you can see the difference between the alpha male and the 4 subordinate males - he's got a lot more red on the body. anyway, i'm pretty stoked - i only got these fish 4 weeks ago!

You folks over seas seem to get your hands on healther looking fish than is available in the USA or specifically New Orleans LOL. The folks in Nawleans probably pour hurricaine mix in their stocks. Especially UK and AUS.

Compare with my Pencil Fish shots here ... first photo in the series is a female, select 'Next' to see the males. There's a significant colour difference, especially when you get alpha males colouring up.

Nice fish Jason, and a nice setup. Like the Rummy and Pencil shoals side by side.
