Fallout Moderator Communications Specialist Posts: 6416 Kudos: 4053 Votes: 742 Registered: 29-Jul-2000 | Really Think about it... if you have the heater in a vertical position, the bottom of the heater element will heat the water, and heated water rises. This heated water just rises up over the rest of the heater coils, heating itself and giving an artificial reading to the temp control. Now turn it on it's side, and it will heat the water which rises up and away from the heater, essential becoming more efficient. Basically it's a bigger 'contact patch' for heating. |

monkeyboy Fish Addict Posts: 521 Kudos: 375 Votes: 223 Registered: 10-Apr-2005 | My drift wood is finally soaked and is now in the tank and one of my caves is done. Here is the pic I just took of the tank. I'll be adding some longer thinner pieces of driftwood in 2 weeks. the other cave i had should be finished in about a week. its much longer. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b48/monkeyboy000/150_setup/150g_11-19-05.jpg Last edited by monkeyboy at 19-Nov-2005 14:42 Fish tanks are an expensive addiction |

monkeyboy Fish Addict Posts: 521 Kudos: 375 Votes: 223 Registered: 10-Apr-2005 | Rocks in, cycling as i type. waiting on my drift wood and caves. the items in tank are just temporary for the 10 zebra danos that are calling it home for a while. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b48/monkeyboy000/150_setup/150_10-16-05.jpg Fish tanks are an expensive addiction |

monkeyboy Fish Addict Posts: 521 Kudos: 375 Votes: 223 Registered: 10-Apr-2005 | i started using the 29/55 dividers from big als online. basicly there is about 1 inch of gravel on the bottem and cut them to fit. but then they would slide. http://www.bigalsonline.com/catalog/product.xm but what i did to make sure their snug, was got rid of he plastic mesh that cam with it, was to replace it with some thicker mesh from like micheals or jo-ann fabric stores. because the mesh material it comes with is to thin and with the thicker, it holds it in place better.
