I just think it will grow faster in my 50 with CO2. So far it looks like you are winning the unnoficial 5ish gallon cherry red planted tank-off. Just don't mix up the kaluha with the excel.... I think the real battle will be that checky young pup from Jersey My Scapes |

I recently had the pleasure of seeing a finished 5G shrimp tank, looked pretty good. The problem there was that the Riccia was constantly trying to float up. Light was plenty, so I don't know why. I'll have to see how the riccia grows here, I'm dosing a few drops of excel daily. It also helps to doublewrap the hairnet or whatever your using. It's really not a very fussy plant. It's funny my son has a guppy tank which I accidently introduced riccia to via a net and it's spreading all over the surface. The tank has absolutely no dosing and 1 wpg. Then again it's floating and there really are no water changes so the ferts are there. My Scapes |

I really like the riccia. However, everything else gets sortof lost. Maybe they just need time to adjust and brighten up. I really really like the idea of the hairgrass when it starts to grow in. I would add two more crypts. One near where the first one is, and one on the other side of the tank in the corner. I think it will help add depth and height to the tank, and hopefully won't make it look too crowded. I love the shape of the tank, though, and the open top makes for a very tranquil kind of setting. Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean... |

Of course I'll do what I can. We empire staters gotta stick together....or sumfin like 'at. I kinda like that. The Evil Empire. I'm already half in the darkside so it works well for me. (or is that just the kitchen counter?)No it's a drybar, well it was a drybar Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, right now it's more or less riccia on centerstage, I really haven't don't much yet to add more green. Now on the otherhand Matty spent endless hours aquascaping his little shrimp nano, so I would hit him with the full critique. I'm sure he would appreciate it. Of course I'll do what I can. My darkside stuff is shelved in the garage for now. I actually spent 2 years in Oswego going to school, so yeah we have a connection. If we could make it thru those "whiteouts" we could certainly beat the Jersey Boys in a litte scaping. My Scapes |

See Matty, I'm not afraid to show some ugliness. Anyway, I removed the wood from the rear right and replaced with a bigger rock moving into the riccia field. I think this brings the large rock on the front left and the back rocks together. Kinda tired of the wood meets in the midde thing (not that it doesn't look very nice in different tanks, but I just wanted to try something different). Also can any tell how the light fixture is suspended? My Scapes |

Looks like it 's suspended using those coralife suspension cords, from a shelf maybe? |

I thought you mentioned the picture wire in your first post. Good DIY strategy IMO. Critical Fertilator: The Micromanager of Macronutrients |

mattyboombatty Moderator Tenellus Obsessor Posts: 2790 Kudos: 1507 Votes: 1301 Registered: 26-Mar-2004 | I like the movement of the rocks, I'm a bit worried that the one placed in the middle of the riccia might get lost. I could see one slightly larger doing well there. Also, I'd obviously like to see more nana petite if you have some in another place that you could bring in, otherwise I guess that request will have to be filled in time. Oh, and a background, the brick pattern is a little distracting. Though the same could be said about mine. Critical Fertilator: The Micromanager of Macronutrients |

I am also with LF about filling the upper section of the tank. How about Pearl Grass? 19G Container Pond [IMG]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y118/Wingsdlc/Ric |
