This will only remove some of the algae what you should be doing is removing the cause of it as well. Snails sorry I can not help you there. I suggest you post a lot more info about your tank plus a full water parameters test. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith ![]() ![]() Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. SAE generally learn that you will be providing food source, and will stop eat algae over time. The other problem with them is that they get pretty large and put a heavy bio-load on the tank. Most pleco's have the same problems, I have read stories were the waste actually will clog the filter strainer . Otto's are a very useful fish, they work a tank very effectively, they are small and stay small and seem to always be eating, and I never really seen them go after flake or frozen food. They will share algae whaffers. Djrichie "So Long, and Thanks For All The Fish" Douglas Adams ![]() |

This little fellow has gotten both my tanks sparkling bright and shiny! I have noticed over the past couple of days, the development of hair algae. I am curious to see what comes of this... |
