I was browzing as usual at a fish store today when I noticed a very nice anubias specimen. It was about 7 in. tall with 8 leaves. It was only $3.99 so I bought it. It looks very similar to Anubias congensis. I have to look it up. After all of my time keeping Anubias, i have only placed them in gravel. I want to try something different a place it on a clay pot. Will the roots attatch to a clay pot? If they dont, I have a nice piece of red/purple shale rock that is not in my tank. I could attatch it to that. ![]() |

They'll attach to anything. In my shellie tank my anubias roots attach to the grains of sand, and that holds the plant down after a while (when i pick the plant up there are clumps of sand covering the roots, it's pretty wild). Great find, congensis is I think my favorite anubias ![]() |

Tie it on firmly with fishing line first until it grips by its self. In case you don’t have any fishing line handy, a stronger thread will do as well. Ingo ![]() |

It kept on leaning over each time. I just put it in the gravel then. I think the major problem is that it is way to tall with not a big long rhizome like those in A. barteri, coffefolia or nana. |
