Each time, whether it was 12 in. tall or 8 in. tall the new leaves only grew to be about 3 or 4 in. tall. Why is this? The light is low, the rhizome was planted above the gravel, weekly water changes. I have very good luck with my Anubias barteri's, A. lanceolata's, A. moliwe, A. coffefolia. The barteri flower about every other month and for the first time ever my A. coffefolia is just about to open a flower up. The coffefolia has been in the tank for 2 years now(almost algae free i might add). All of them are under the same conditions- planted in the gravel with the rhizome above the gravel. |

Light, Co2 , Nutrients. The 8in Congensis were probably grown in richer conditions, so grew bigger leaves. Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability. |

Are you saying that A. congensis is a type of Anubias that likes higher levels of light as opposed to A. barteri or A. coffefolia? If so, how high? |

The same can be said of any plant. The Anubias don't need it though. But they will grow faster and bigger if these things are provided , again something that can be said of any plant. They will do fine in your current set-up but don't expect large foliage or fast growth. Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability. |

Some of mine have developed into very tall plants with very tall, broad leaves under those conditions. Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean... |
