I would recommend AquariumPlants.com, I buy most of my plants there. If you think it would be cheaper to get them from somebody here then you would have to be lucky and find someone in your area so you could save on the shipping (overnight is strongly suggested). Otherwise, you have to pay for shipping anyway and tenellus in itself is not all that expensive. Hope this helps, Ingo ![]() |

The potted version, at $3.19, has 2 to 3 plants, the loose one is sold in 10 plants for $6.90. I recently bought the potted version as it was supposed to have grown submersed and as such sheds less leaves (before becoming truely submersed) when added to the tank. How big is your tank? I would assume you don't need quite a lot of them. And shipping, if I remember that right then shipping over night is somewhere in the $ 30s. If you find some private person that is willing to part with their tenellus, and if they have to ship to you as well, then shipping will be at least as expensive (as I said, over night is highly recommended). They give you good sized bunches for less than your LFS probably does (certainly less than mine does). And if you choose Priority shipping, the cost should be less than $10. However, since it's getting cold in the norther areas, you might think about overnight shipping, which can cost $30 or so. In general, buying online is more expensive, however, you're getting the exact plants you want, and they're from a good source and very healthy. You also might try Aquabid.com and look in the rooted plants section. I have had very good luck buying from the sellers there. As with any auction site, check the feedback, and don't be afraid to ask the seller any questions before you place a bid. Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean... |
