I was wondering if theres any pros or cons in using those legs? I know it gives you the high tech look, but would it decrease the actual wattage?

Has anyone used these fixtures?

Thanks!

(BTW, the one I'm planning to get is the Aqualight 48" 2x65 watts 6,700K)

Many light fixtures have "legs" to:
1. In a freshwater tank to keep the hot lighting fixture off the glass top and prevent the heat from cracking the glass,
2. In a saltwater tank to provide separation from the tank water and evaporation that would c9orrode or short the fixture.

Great, I have the 6 foot Coralife fixture with four 96 watt tubes and the "moonlights". At their cost it is worthwhile to keep them from getting wet!
