![]() | Brown Roots on Pennywort |
Endo.Crono.Logic![]() Fingerling Posts: 15 Kudos: 7 Votes: 0 Registered: 01-May-2006 | Anyone else have problems with the roots on pennywort getting brown slime, most likely algae? I think my light levels wer too low at .5w/g, but now at 2w/g. I hope this resolves the situation. Nitrate/Nitrite/Ammonia 0ppm. Thanks! Moved, 06 May 06, to Planted Aquaria as a more applicable forum. Frank ![]() |

With the roots hanging down into the water column, it makes a great "home" for fry and will help control nitrates as they are formed. With the .5 wpg however, it was barely hanging on. With your increased wpg value it should start to take off. When it increases in quantity simply take a net and scoop out a net full or two from time to time. I only realized I wasn't in the planted aquaria forum after I posted and didn't know how to move it. After only a few days with 2 wpg all the plants, including the pennywort are doing very well. Thanks for the info ![]() |
