My green cabombas are looking haggard. They are brown in places so I assumed it was lack of light. After further consideration i feel that i havve enough light with 4 36 inch 25 watt ultra sun flourescent bulbs (about 3.5w/gal.) and they are planted high on a slope reducing their overall depth in the aquarium. I am using flourite as a substrate and just started using plant care tablets that provide nutrients and co2.

Hi,
Here are a couple of sites that might help:

About the plant and its care...

http://naturalaquariums.com/plantedtank/0602.html

About how plants tell us what they are lacking...

Hi Amazonia,
Just a short note for any Aussies who happen to come across this thread, Cabomba has been declared a weed of national significance here, Be careful with this plant if you have it in your tank/pond already dont let it get out into the environment, it has the potential to choke water ways.
