I have a clump of java moss that is disgustingly dirty (I was away for a month, tank was not cleaned or anything) and I want to find a way to clean it.

First of all, the yuckies (dirty stuff )are pretty much stuck on the java moss and the java moss also grows over the stuff. Secondly, if I take the java moss out of the tank it's imposible to see the yuckies, only dark green java moss.

Help would be appreciated Thanks.

If it isn't attached to anything you can take it out of the tank and literally sqeeze it out and swish it around into a bucket of tank water. some of it might break off, but that really isnt a problem because you won't do any real damage.

Hi,
If the moss is firmly rooted to driftwood, then take
your python and brush it across the leaves as you
drain the tank. That is how I do my carpet. I "scrub"
the leaves (brush back and forth) across them.

If it is not anchored then the above post is a good
idea.

It is anchored and my siphon (not everyone has a python mind you ) doesn't seem to be strong enough to suck alot of the yuckies out.
