If I cut the dwarf sword greass in my tank, will it spread faster? Plenty of light and nutrients in the tank...but I want the carpeted look and am growning impatient...

Cut it, like slip the leave in half? That'd probably kill the individual leaf. If you mean snipping the runners, that might help a little, but your best bet is to either buy more, or spread it out if it's in a clump - and, sorry, but be patient with it. Once it reaches "critical mass" it'll spread much more quickly.

As asked before, did you plant it in a clump or spread the individual sprouts out? It will take a few weeks for the plants to settle in their new "soil", but once that happens, it will spread as quickly as any lawn. A rich substrate will help, and make sure they're getting plenty of light. In two months or so, you should see a lot of growth and you should have a very lush lawn in about 4-6 months. I realize this is a long time, but completely worth the patience. You should keep the grass trimmed to allow light to better reach the lower parts, but trimming will not hinder or help its growth.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...
