I was wondering if anyone has used a bulb like this for a planted tank:

I read a thread on this forum a few months ago about the Colormax bulb, but info on it was scarce back then.

It think this bulb would help remove the green effect of a regular 6700k bulb.

Hi,
These bulbs, IMO, are a gimmic to get folks to purchase
them. 50% 6700 for plants, and 50% "pink" for you to
see your fish with "enhanced color."

Personally, I'd save my money and just use 6700K bulbs.
They give a truer color rendering of what is in the tank.

There was a thread earlier where someone posted a picture
of a planted tank that used 6700K bulb(s) and remarked that
the tank looked "greener" Actually the plants were more
vivid, but the fish were as well. In the picture that we
saw, the plants were so green, that they were almost
blooming. That could have been taken care of by choosing
different shades of green to break up the mass that had
been planted.

Thanks Frank, that's all I needed. I'll stick with my 6700k bulbs.
