However, I can say that DIY does in fact work, even in my 38G tank. As falstaf said, the important part is the means to dissolve the CO2 into the water. My Anubias plants seem to do extremly well with out it anyway. I would say Bernard is the person to ask more about it. I have two tanks, one with a DIY setup, and another with pressurised CO2 tank. DIY is not as good as pressurised, but it does make plants do grow a bit faster than without it.
