![]() | DIY co2 Systems - Does room temp govern rate? |

Does the rate of bubbles change with the temp? For example, if I have two cannisters - one in a room that is 65 and another in a room that is 85, will the one in the 85F room run more bubbles per second? I'm not interested in doing this, I simply want to understand if rate is affected by temp. |

If you run DIY CO2, you can see the change in reaction by placing the bottle near a hot air register to see the reaction rate and then move it away from the register to see the reaction. __________ "To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." researched from Steven Wright |

Well, I'm 48 hours into my Hagen setup and it still hasn't started. It has one more inch to go before all of the water is out of the line. Yesterday it was 2 inches. I know the 69F has alot to do with it. Maybe I'll set the cannister on top of the light fixture for a bit today ![]() |

Shaking the mixture also helps a little (releases gas). Critical Fertilator: The Micromanager of Macronutrients |

I used the Hagen mixture the first time. They have an activator packet, which I know is yeast. There is a stabilizer packet, which I believe is baking soda. I have no plans of buying further packets as I know I can make my own. I didn't want it to get started just yet. I needed to transfer some fish out into a 10 gallon and didn't want the pH change, so it worked out well. If it doesn't seem to be running too much, I'll try giving it a shake. I'm still concerned with other fish or another rasbora getting trapped behind the ladder again. Any fish behind that thing, with co2 bubbles going up has got to be in trouble. Luckily, the one that got caught, did so before it was running. ![]() |
