Does anyone have any suggestions in the way of plants for the following species?

M. carcinus

M. heterochirus

M. vollenhovenii

I would use the same species people use for destructive fish: Anubias (tough leaves) and Java Fern (tastes bad).

It looks like they had crypts in the pics of those fish, maybe give those a try too.

I didn't realize macrobrachium species of shrimp would tear up plants... Though they can be very harmful to other tank inhabitants. I don't think they eat plants, but they may dig them up, so your best bet is to use plants that you tie down to rocks or driftwood, or deep-rooted plants such as crypts and maybe swords or Tiget lotus. You'll want to give the plants a week or two to establish themselves in a deep substrate of 3-5 inches before you add the shrimp.
