In addition to the chemical changes, will co2 production at night sometimes make the water look a little cloudy?

CO2 production at night shouldn't cloud your water. If you have a DIY set-up, you may have some bleeding of the yeast solution into your tank.

Bob,

The reason I ask sometimes in the morning the tank has a slight haze to it, but it seems to clear up completely by mid day.

no...it shouldnt...as what bob said..check the tubing if u have diy...co2 is colorless.
